Hotel Gloria Superior - Stuttgart

Lovely modern hotel with excellent breakfast buffet.

We loved the fact that the Hotel Gloria was a nice mix of modern hotel and family-friendly pensione. Security was good but the front-desk is unmanned after-hours which cuts down on the constant hustle & bustle of a large scale hotel....  

The staff is always gracious. The room service is good and the breakfast is excellent.

Lack of air conditioning makes warm days uncomfortable!!! Noise from the street is intrusive during the night!!! Thin curtains mean waking up at the crack of dawn!!! Confusing self-check-in process may cause issues!!! Parking is far too expensive!!!

Helpfull and friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, convenient location to public transportation, variety of restaurants in the area within walking distance, quiet location, and fair price for the rooms....

The rooms at the hotel are on the small side but comfortable.

Parking was tough, but the staff helped us when we needed a room.

At check-out, my bill was 109 Euros and 10 cents. I presented, in cash, 109 Euros; but I did not have the 10 cents, only another 100 Euro bill. "Might you", I reasonably requested, "have 10 cents floating around?" The receptionist stared with blank eyes. "Do you expect me to finance your room?", He asked. "I'd hardly call it finance, I'd call it courtesy. The kind of thing one finds in America or Norway or South Africa or everyplace", I emphasized, "evidently except Germany". Germany, indeed. There are still too many good Germans in Germany. That the promised (and paid for in-room internet service option did not, in fact, work at all, was another disappointment. But on this matter, the good German was praiseworthy: he did not charge for the cost of a service that had not functioned. He followed the rule that one must always follow the rules: No service, no charge; finally, something courteous.

The Classic Double Room was like a cozy refuge after a day of culinary adventures. The breakfast buffet featured a solid spread, giving a great start to the day. Plus, the handy location meant I could stroll to nearby eateries like Gasthaus...  

Receptionist was very capable and pleasant and extremely helpful. It was close to Kelley Barracks. It was close to the u bahn and the price was very reasonable.

The bathroom did not have a normal ceiling. It was a bit cramped to get to the toilet. I stayed on the top floor and the loft was a bit tight for the bath room.

Bad cost performance. Old fashioned furnitures - for example a small tube tv and a tiny bath room. I wanted to work with my laptop, but the desk was too small and there was no free power socket on the desk. You must pay extra for WIFi access. For 88 eur you can find much more comfort room in the city centrum.

Had a sweet as stay! Rooms were clean, heaps of good breakfast choices. But the bathroom was a bit cramped, eh? Good experience.

The daily housekeeping ensured everything stayed impeccably tidy, which I appreciated. Plus, the high customer service from the friendly staff made every interaction a pleasure!
